  • Replace footage for Layered PSD imported as Composition

    Hi all,

I need to move my footage files around my harddrive, so in After Effects my files will go missing. No problem for most of the files as I simply move all my footage files into a folder, re-link one file and After Effects finds the rest.

Howvever, for footage files that were imported as a comp from single PSDs, AE isn’t finding their individual layers and re-linking.
I don’t want to go through them one-by-one as I can’t remember if they were imported at layer dimension or document dimension.

Any solutions would be appreciated greatly.

    Thanks,
    Fergal.

You can avoid re-linking entirely if you use Collect files [link].

Yeah I was thinking that’s the only solution, was just wondering if there was another way.
For example if I needed to re-link only one file (if it was deleted or misplaced) I’d have to re-link each layer, it wouldn’t be automatic.
Anyway, it wouldn’t be the end of the world!
