Replace clips with effects applied?
Does anyone know if it’s possible to replace clips in your timeline that have effects applied to them without erasing the effect?
I have montages cut that have lots of effects/transitions on the shots. I need a faster way of swapping out the shots without recreating the effects on every shot.

Step into the effects and replace the lowest level (which will be just the clip).
Or, if Segment Mode, double click the effect to “open” it up on the timeline and reveal the level below, which will be a nested effect (double click that) or the layer (if you’re using only one effect).
Also, map the Replace Edit key to your keyboard and try it–it may do what you want, but I’m pretty sure it will get rid of the effects. So you’ll need to step in.
