    I am editing sports footage.

Lets say the main video and the replay footage is on V1.

Every time there is a replay I have to do the following:
Add a replay graphic on V2 for the entire replay clip duration
Add an in graphic on V3 that covers the cut to from the main footage to the replay
Add an out graphic on V3 that covers the cut from the replay back to the main footage

See the screenshot below for a visual explanation.

Is there anyway to automate this process, or at least simplify it in some way so I don’t have to manually place each of these elements. There are a lot of replays and this becomes very time consuming.

    Thanks.

Try putting the replay and transition graphics into a nested sequence. Make the sequence around 15 seconds or so, depending on your average length of replays. Add markers to line up the in an out cut points. Adjust end graphic timing as needed.
