Repeating Layer
Posted by Rcmsantos on August 11, 2005 at 12:31 pmHi,
Is there a effect in AE that could repeat dozens of times the content of a layer in a similar way as photoshop does with the offset filter?
Thanks

August 11, 2005 at 1:28 pmYou can try either:
-CC Repetile (Stylize)
-CC Tiler (Distort)These are the Cycore Effects that came with your Pro version of AE 6.5 (non-educational). It’s a seperate installer on the CD. Tiler is probably what you want.

August 11, 2005 at 7:17 pmThe Smooth Tiler filter in our Anarchy Toolbox does this as well and gives you additional options for seamless blending, rotating, and cropping the image.

August 12, 2005 at 3:00 amThanks for your help.
The filters you have indicated (I’ haven’t try those of Digital Anarchy) do the job pretty well but they make an patterned environment. The problem is that I’m trying to animate a group of some fairies and I would like to give them a more realist movement and positionning. So, is there a way of minimaze these grid aspect and giving the footage being cloned a position more arbitary?
A big thanks to you all.

It’s sounds to me that you should use a Particle Generator (Foam, P.Playground, Trapcode Particullar)
with your “fairies” as a custom particle.Salut.
