Repair video files – Wondershare Repairit or other suggestions?
Surprised we do not have a VR forum here, but I will post under fcpX as that is where editing will be, and this question could apply to non VR as well. Insta360 Pro operator shut down camera to stop recording, packaged video files for stitching are unreadable because probably corrupted due not properly wrapped/saved. Have tried the Wondershare Repairit with success, though only on one file, and will need to purchase the program to access the files, do all six in the folder, and see if Insta360Stitcher will stitch them successfully. Before I make the plunge, has anyone had success with this program to repair corrupted video files, or have other Mas OS video repair programs to suggest? Thanks!

I’ve not had good luck with anything to repair damaged files.
I have heard from multiple sources that accessing the original card with the original camera to view the clips can often repair them. But not always.

A few months ago I had a video file from my JVC camcorder not complete the file as the power failed while recording.
Repairit fixes that issue – no problem! I first used the demo and it showed it could do it –
so we paid the fee and the file works fine now!

Aeroquartet focuses specifically on repairing video files. You can use their Treasured app to confirm the file is repairable. If you’re dealing with professional client work I’d check with them first rather than risk a generic repair utility potentially doing more damage.
