renders quitting early
Posted by Louis Germano on January 5, 2009 at 8:04 pmMy red bar renders only get to about 50% finished and then the render queue cuts out. It creates a partial render. I have to select “render all” again. Any idea as to why?

January 5, 2009 at 10:57 pmThis usually happens because one of the files is corrupted. Try rendering in sections rather than render all. When you find the file that is stopping the render, try adding a filter to the file, but giving it a value of 0, so that it has no practical effect. This should allow you to now render that file.

January 6, 2009 at 3:19 pmthe files in question were rendered successfully by others in adjacent FCP suites. We are a 12 machine house. We are all running FCP 6.0.4… It seems like my software (or my Mac) does this with every red bar render I try.

January 6, 2009 at 10:08 pmThank you for providing further information. If this is happening every time you try to render any file then it does sound like a software or hardware issue.
Do the other FCP suites have the same specs, ram etc as the machine you are using?
Have you tried standard maintenance procedures such as trashing preferences, repairing permissions etc?
