It should also be pointed out that once text renders in DV codec it looks bad. I often take editors DV sequences to grade & online and the first thing I do is drop it into an uncompressed sequence so that text & graphics render better. DV codec will always make text look bad.

Animation codec out of AE would be OK. Your mistake was in changing your sequence to match the AE clip. You should have answered “no” to the “change sequence settings dialog.” Then your AE clip would need to be rendered, but your sequence would remain in a proper editing codec (DV in this case).

Do you have a Kona or Blackmagic card? If so, you can use the UC or better yet ProRess 422 HQ sequence setting (and render AE in ProRes too) and output from that.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Video card. So, would the animation codec continue to be the best option in my case? I didn’t realize that I shouldn’t change the sequence’s settings and will fix my sequence with the proper clips ASAP. Thank you for the help.
