When you guys are rendering files to MPG format for DVD authoring, do you use Constant or Variable bit rates? Why?

I was having some issues with herky-jerky footage once it reached DVD. I swapped several things around and finally landed on this: I had been rendering in Constant Bit Rate. I swapped to Variable Bit Rate and the problem solved itself.

You can use Constant bit rate for short videos that will fit at that high bit rate. You should use Variable when you need to fit more video at a lower average but with higher peaks.

If you are having quality problems with variable bit rate, turn on the Two Pass option. This will give you better quality at the same bit rate.
