Rendering Transparent video W/ burnt TC
I want to be able to export/render a 40 min long movie of just a burn-in timecode in one corner with a clear background.
I can do the burn in TC but when I reimport the video file its black, thus , blocking other video under it.in other words i just want a video track with burnt in timecode so i can put it on top of other videos and then export/render so I get one movie with burn in TC.
I DO NOT WANT TO use the TC burn-in efect on the movie itself i just want the TCburn-in on another track and to be clear so you can see/render with the other video tracks.

so is this a more advance question? for the advance FCP forum?

What you need is an alpha channel transparency – although I’m not 100% sure that FCP will let you do this is this situation…
Otherwise, just use the video you have rendered out, and use the crop settings to trim down so that just the TC box is visible. You should be able to do this on the actual source clip (before putting it on the timeline) so that it is pre-cropped to that size every time you use it.
