Situation: rendering out to Quicktime with the layers at best quality
comp window is at half resolution
    output module at current settings
    output size 720×389(scale down v. of 2K 1.85×1 ratio)

    Question for Mr.Steve Roberts.
Because of the fire effects that I used, the rendering time is a bit long; just wanted a quick render to preview it.
So, I rendered it out as current setting as mentioned above, it renders out to half the size(360×195) or so.
I haven’t streched the size in the output settings.
is there a reason for this reduced in size?

    Thanks in advance.

The comp rendered out to half resolution, since the comp window was currently set to half Res. (current settings were half-res)

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for the reply.

To do a quick render to QT, should I then set the comp to full resolution
and make the layers draft? I still need to get the size but a quicker render
would be nice rather than best and full settings.

I normally render everything out to best & full, that’s why I’ve never came
    across this issue.

    Thank you for your help.

Try using the render queue at quarter-res Render Settings, then stretch to full size in the output module. You don’t have to create a full-length render to test a solution.

Experiment. That’s how I learned the app back in ’97.

I will do as you suggested.

    Thank you, Steve.
