    would anybody be able to help me, when ever I try to render to .MOV (Uncompressed) I keep getting this error saying
    “An error occurred while creating the media file the wretched.mov, An unsupported media type was requested”

    btw, I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
    and I would like to render this to .MOV only becuase I see it as my best option, if I render to .AVI raw its way too big, and .wmv is just a dodgy ouptut file.

    According to what you say you want…Render out your .mov
    instead in the “Photo-Jpeg” format with the quality
    set at 95%

    I just want to point out that an uncompressed MOV file will be about the same size as an uncompressed AVI file. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. You will need to use a codec for either format (MOV or AVI) if you want the file to be smaller. The Quicktime Animation codec is possibly a good choice because it uses lossless compression.

    Yes…Set the video quality at 95% (the slider below where you
    would select Photo-Jpeg
    )
    Or you could use the Animation Codec as John recommends.

    Yeah tried the jpeg at 95% it went well, still about 1GB for about 10mins, but thats fine, I’m making a dvd and I think a standard uncompressed dvd is about 25GB, then it gets compressed to fit a 4.7GB disc.

    this is a little confusing.
    What is your source format?
    Clarify that your final delivery is on DVD for playback in a DVD player?
