  • Rendering to 1920×803 – missing audio

Posted by Will Brown on January 31, 2011 at 2:18 am

    Hi guys,
I would like to render 1920×803.
If I use MPEG2 – HDV1080 and change the 1080 to 803, I have audio, but it has black lines (from the 1440 that is not 1920).
If I change the 1440 to 1920, it can’t render, so I presume I have to use a Blu-ray template.

When I use MPEG2 – Blu-ray 1920×1080 and change the 1080 to 803 and include audio, I have 2 files, the main .m2t and an extra ‘movie clip’ that is the audio?

Why is the audio going to a separate track?
    Is that how Blu-ray works?

    Thanks.
    Will.

1920 x 803 is not an accepted Blu-ray format. You must render letterboxed as 1920 x 1080 using one of the Blu-ray templates. Then render your audio separately as Digital Dolby AC3.

    No worries John,
    I will render as mp4, HDV 1920×1050, 16Mbps.
    Thanks.

[Will Brown] “Can I render Blu Ray with 1 file.(audio into the video)”

You can but if you want to burn it to disc, the audio will get re-rendered and you will loose quality. It’s best to deliver the video and audio as separate streams to avoid any re-rendering. If you just want to use the file for playback like on a media player, you can combine them.
