hi everybody…sorry if there is a reply for the question i am gonna ask…but be sure,i search all the posts.but i couldn’t find the answer exactly…anyway..here is the problem..when i render my project,i have a file huge size…i read a kind of solution like that…

“”On Windows, click on the output module setting, choose Quicktime Movie under “format”, then under “Format Options”, choose the animation codec. and set the Quality slider to best.””

i followed this way and i got a 890 mb mov file…my project lasts 1 minute 50 seconds.
…besides, the project doesn’t include any movies or large sizes pictures…

i think,it shouldn’t be like this size…i guess it should be max 100 mb for 1 minute 50 seconds movie doesn’t include large size footages

    how can i solve this…

    Hi.

    Animation codec is almost uncompressed.

Tell us what do you want to do with the final file. AE has a huge amount of codec export options. One of them might serve you well. But you gotta say what you wanna do with the file. Like if you

yep, the lossless animation codec is used as an intermediate codec, to go between ae and other pieces of software while maintaining the highest image quality.

What rendering codec in your experience worked the best to export to AVI to be played on PC and manipulated by Adobe Premier without getting the huge file sizes?

I’ve tried other compression codecs at 85% but getting too much pixelation for my taste.

    Any suggestions?

with premiere there are ways to import the ae project to avoid rendering in ae… i’m not sure of the exact workflow or the limitations it might have. check the help file or manual for workflow between adobe applications. if you have further questions, try searching here for premiere after effects workflow and post if you have any questions….

if you want to render, try rendering to the codec that you are working in in premiere. so, if you are setup to work in dv25 in premiere, render out dv25 in ae… note there are a few different flavors of dv.

also, many people swear by photo jpeg at a higher quality setting…

thank you for your all answers…i solve the problem like that…in fact i couldn’t…let me explain,,i rendered the project then i imported it into the sony vegas…i rendered again in vegas then i have a 10 mb high quality avi video…800 mb turned to 10 mb…i wish that i could do this in AE,but i can’t unfortunately…but, definetely i will make a project file longer than 2 minutes then i have some problems again…for 5 minutes, probably i have 2-3 gb sizes file…i am tryin to render any other type compression…i have to learn a lot…bye for now..

Well…you can actually make the render output small on AE (quicktime SORENSON3 for exemple, or a f**k load of other codecs). Fact is if you compress the working file too much the final product will not be hi-quality at all. Compression over compression leads to destruction.

By the way 2 GBs is actually not that big a file. You better get used to it. Or getr a bigger HD.

Anyway I hope you could get where you wanted to.

    Cheers.
