    Hi,

I have a timeline with a lot of subtitles. About 7 minutes into the timeline, the titles appear to be unrendered when I try to play the timeline. I want to avoid having to render anything until the project is finished. Is there a setting I need to change that would allow me to play all the subtitles on the timeline while editing without having to render every time I add subtitles?

    Thanks!

    Hi Anna

I’m guessing you’ve brought your titles in as stills? If that’s the case and you want to increase the amount of memory available for your stills cache then go to your FCP menu > System Settings window >> Memory and Cache tab and increase your Still Cache setting there. Be aware that you are reducing the amount of RAM available to FCP by doing this so don’t over egg it or you’ll find you’ll pay for it in reduced performance elsewhere in the app.

    Hope it helps
    Andy

Thanks so much, that just saved me 2 hours! I boosted the still image cache to 20%.

    Much appreciated 🙂
