does anyone know where the ‘straight unmatted’ render setting is in motion? i’m trying to render out a quicktime animation for use in an avid but they’re coming out premultiplied resulting in a ‘dark halo effect’ when keyed over footage.

in the past the fix with live type was to take the quicktime and re-render it from after effects as straight unmatted. is there an easier way? thanks in advance.

It’s in the Output tab of the Export Options window. Uncheck “Use current project and canvas settings” and “Premultiply alpha” and you’ll get a straight render.

i unchecked the box and exported a new quicktime as straight unmatted. for some strange reason the quicktime still imported into the avid with the same ‘dark halo effect’ when keyed over footage. the import settings in avid are what they should be.

    am i missing something?

Whatabout in QuickTime Player – Does it look like it’s been rendered straight (bad quality edges)?
