Rendering Still images in FCP7
I’m importing still graphics into FCP7. I mainly use .tiff files and some with transparency settings turned on. I do this to get a page tear out effect for documents and medical records. Most of the images drop into the sequence timeline with no rendering. But after a certain amount of still images are put into the timeline, FCP7 starts giving me the red render indicator. So the question: Is this just the way it is, final cut just runs out of realtime with .tiff files? Or is there a setting i’m not aware of or format issue. I create the graphics in adobe photoshop CS6 with the HD preset in film/video settings.

Go to finalcut pro menu>system settings>memory & cache and increase still cache memory amount.

you can do that but you will quite likely still run out or ‘render” and get the red bar.
you can change that to the orange bar by changing your RT settings from safe to unlimited.
do it in the RT menu top left of the timeline.
it won’t play great, but it will play.nick
