I’ve never tested this, but which one would render faster?

Is it faster to render something at Animation or DV NTSC compression?

I assume it would render faster in Animation because there’s less compression to be done to each frame.

Any thoughts? I have to have a render done by Monday morning.

Compression is not the biggest part of a render, but the answer is simple: do a test yourself. 🙂

Now if the animation were long, I’d drag the comp into another comp, and speed it up by a great amount. That way, I’d be rendering less material, rendering a sampling of the frames. For example, if you sped it up 30x, you’d be rendering every 30th frame. Multiply the render time of this test by 30 to get the final result.
