I just want to throw these steps out in hopes that somebody can verify I’m going down the right path here or direct me in another direction.

Editing a 2 camera event with Platinum 10 to burn to blu-ray.

camera 1 is a sony AVCHD
camera 2 is an older sony shooting widescreen MPEG-2

I am planning on rendering using MainConcept MPEG-2 and Blu-ray 1920×1080-60i 25Mbps. Estimated size is less than 21GB so fitting on a single layer BD-R should work fine. Also rendering AC-3 5.1 audio separate. Not sure if I should use AGC or not.

Using DVD Architect to author the menu and burn the disk.

Any suggestions or oversights? I want to try and make the first attempt count and not a coaster!!!

Should I use two-pass vbr or constant?

I also have “quality over speed” checked on.

    Thanks!

It looks like you are heading in the right direction. I only enable two-pass on VBR if I’m trying to squeeze the most out of a low bit-rate encode. At 25Mbps I doubt that’s the case but it will certainly make better decisions about where to use bits at the cost of doubling your render time so it’s up to you.
