    Hey Guys!

Is it a good idea to make my project 24p and render it to 24p to make it kinda filmlook?
And what other Project Properties and render settings do I still need to get that film look or make my videos so much better?

As far as 24p goes for project and render settings, the frame-rate of 24 is really 23.976 and the ‘p’ is progressive fields so those are the only two properties to worry about (i.e., frame rate and field order). The built-in Vegas project setting of NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720×480, 23.976 fps) should work fine as should the built-in MPEG2 render setting of DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream.

There aren’t any project or render settings that will make your video look better. There are plenty that can screw it up, so your question is a very good one and getting these things right is important, but none of those settings will make the video look better (or like film).

That’s not to say you can’t improve the look during editing. Basic color correction is a big start (and a lot of work). There aren’t many things that Red Giant’s Magic Bullet suite can do (automatically) that Vegas can’t do (manually), but it does offer a ton of really neat presets and shortcuts to get some very lovely looks very quickly – of course it costs money!

As to 24p, sure, you can try that and you might like it. It’s about the 17th most important characteristic that makes film look like film, however. I produced a little primer on 24p some time ago that might help: The 24p Conspiracy
