    Hi and thanks in advance…

OK i have a composition set at 1024*576 pal square pixel 24fps, 4m30s long, containing combination special effects, 3D animation stills etc… i have been using avi without compression up until now to save time on rendering, now its time for the full monty…its target will be for DVD and a full composition in quicktime format without compression, and later for the web.

My question is this, if the timeline is rendered out at quicktime and the intended output will be pal dvd, will the 30fps loss less settings for quicktime animation make any changes to the overall video? or should i choose 24fps the same that will be used in encore for DVD?

Having had a poke around at the setting, seems that you cant actually change them in the output module settings dialog as it is overridden by the render settings dialog using the comps frame rate as default, which is 25fps…

Main reason for the really accurate time on export is the need to sync a rather large and intricate audio composition.

Is quicktime the best format to take across to encore?

    Hi,
yes you are right…sorry my mistake, i meant to say i have a comp @1024*576 dv1 wide screen square pixel, and yes this is 25fps.

Referring to render dialog i was looking at the output module settings frame rate as oppose to the render settings drop down, for this reason i noticed that the frame rate in the drop down menu stated 30fps when i went to change it i realized that the comp settings and frame rate were in fact the settings it would use for the render.

25fps for pal dvd, 29 for ntsc and 24fps i guess would be if the video is intended for TV broadcast, but for DVD for pal is 25fps this is correct.

So all is well, a fully rendered comp @ 1024*576 25fps quicktime animation quality settings, render time 1hr and 37mins for 2 minutes based on these settings using a quad core@ 2.4ghz 4gb ram

Thanks for the comments and help.
