I’ve read all the past posts and have not really been able to figure out my exact questions…so here I go…..

    1. Im brand new to Sony Vegas pro8 and cant figure which settings I need to get a good quaility picture. I have a DCR-SR300 Sony HDD camcorder and my manual says it records MPEG2 format in SD (standard Def). Im familiar with other more novice based editing programs (Nero,WinDVD,Windows Movie Maker), but I cant figure out how to render to my hard drive so I can later create home movie DVD’s.

I’m in the process of rendering in each format but this is proving very time consuming. So far I’ve created MPEG2-2dvd NTSC file and it is very digitalized at 30 bitrate and all set to best “vs” good setting……

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance….TODD

It all depends on the bitrate you choose for the MPEG-2 render. And the bitrate you uise is dependent on the total length of the video.
