rendering problems
I’ve have a mpeg file at 8,02 GG(imported from a VHS tape).
Now I need to fit it on a dvd. But when i’m rendering it into mp4(1920×1080)the file gets bigger and end up at 11.3? I’sent it ment to get smaller??
I’ve added 1 effekt(sony soft contrast)What format should I render in to keep the quality but size it to a standard Dvd?

Also the clip is 1.30 long but the rendering takes around 11 hours. Never tried to render such a long file before so is that a normal rendering time?

You need to adjust the encoding bit rate.
Higher bitrate=Higher Quality=Bigger File.
Encode Time – is mostly dependent on your processor speed, and if you have any FX applied to the track.
I don’t recall where I got it, but this is the Bit Rate Calculator I use:

If the video is from a VHS tape, then you only need to record and render at standard definition (720×480 for NTSC or 720×576 for PAL).
You can use the “DVD” or “DVD Architect” presets for the MPEG2 format when you render in Vegas. Use the bitrate calculator that Stephen linked to for calculating the max bitrate you can use.
