Rendering problem with Sony Vigas Plantinum 9.0
Hi!
When I use my video camera, it makes a movie ending in .MOV. If I use the video as is, everything is fine and I can add it to my slideshow, etc. and everything is fine. But if I edit it in Sony Vegas and render it as an avi, I get a lot of flickering. The only editing that I do is splitting to cut out what I don’t want. Is there a way not to have that irritating flickering?

First try downloading the latest update to vegas platinum 9 and see if it continues…..Vegas platinum may have some limitations if i was to offer pro solutions.

Hi!
I just downloaded the latest update and the flickering continues. In fact, I can see the flickering in the play-back window. This flickering will appear on the rendered avi. This same movie will not flicker when played in windows media player.

Are you getting flickering in the MOV file or just the picture you have added? Try right-clicking the events and in the Properties set the Reduce Interlace Flicker option on and see if that helps.

Hi!
I am attaching a short avi showing the flickering. Maybe I used the wrong word–maybe it is not called flickering. Anyway, all the noise you see in the video does not show up if I just play the original video on windows. All this “noise” or “flickering” occurs only when I upload the video to sony Vegas. I wish there was a way to keep the video cleaner.

P. S. Well, I sent the video but it has been a few hours and it could not be sent since it was in “moderation” so you might not see what I sent.
