    Hi all,

I am trying to render out an uncompressed quicktime version of a project with no sound. The render gets to a certain point and then fails with this error message.

After Effects error: Adding to movie — Disk error (I/O error; bad media)(-36) (44::39)

Anybody any ideas what this means?

Have you run out of disk space?
    Have you defragged lately?

Hey Adam, I am experiencing the exact same problem/identical error message and wonder if you ever discovered a solution? A reply from you would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yo adam, I just found the solution and wanted to pass it on to you. Problem is how the harddrive is formatted. I had mine formatted to fat32 to work on both mac and pc, but fat32 has a 4gb limit, hence the cutoff/error message.

Solution is working off a drive formatted HFS for mac (no 4gb limit)and using a software utility called Macdrive on the pc to read/write.

Hope this helps you out too!
