Rendering M2T HD files and Adobe PP CS4
I have had Adobe Production Premium CS4 for about 8 months and I have NEVER been successful at being able to use PPro because of numerous reason (more than can be put into a post)… each problem was solved after waiting for updates and “dumbing down” my editing process (i.e., converting video codec).
However, there is one problem that doesn’t seem to have a solution…
I can NOT render m2t without problems… and, these are consitent problems…that usually end up with a deleting of rendered files, rebooting, clearing cache, etc.
The typicial error message is “Media pending”. And, this occurs when I use almost ANY effect (…if I am successful at all at getting an original render for the m2t file).
According to Adobe… m2t is a native file… but, I somehow think that Adobe has a different definition of what “native” means. I have looked up everything I can on this problem… and, in each post that the situation is similar problem… I have not found a solution that works for me.
Finally, to add to the problems…Adobe’s most recent Output Module 2.1 will not install. And, the only references I can find to help with this problem… only seems to apply to Vista. I use Windows XP.
Basic Information of my specs:
Video Source Specs: m2t NTSC Progressive HD (Canon HV30)
Computer Specs: WinXP 32bit, ASUS W6T6 WS Rev., Intel i7 3.2Ghz 8X32bit CPU, 6G Corsair DDR3 (low lat.) RAM, NVidia GeForce GTX 280, LG DVD, Adaptec 5405 RAID SAS controller for 2 Stripes of 2xHD 15k rpm Fujitsu 300G ea.
CS4 Prem Pro (most current update software and drivers)Any solutions as to why the m2t files will not render with ANY DEGREE of stability? The dreaded “Media Pending” problem shows up nearly every time I use Prem Pro with a HD file captured from a Canon HV30
As for the Output Module’s failure to install problem, it will be nice if someone can help….but, I really wished I could get PP to work even at a fundamental level. If not, I will simply keep using my AVID NLE and spread the word about my experience with Adobe’s Prem Pro (…which includes a pretty worthless technical support – all they know is to say reinstall Adobe… even if that “solution” doesn’t work for the 100th time).
