I am running Sony Vegas 8 Platinum on two computers. Computer A has Microsoft Windows XP Proffessional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Running Pentium 4 CPU 2.4 GHz 2.50 GB of Ram.
Computer B has Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1. Running AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHz 2.0 GB of Ram 32- Bit operating system.
I render out to Window Media Video V9 Audio: 64 Kbps, 44, 100 Hz, 16 Bit, stereo Video: 22.970 fps, 720×480, Quality VBR 90, WMV Compression
Computer A was editing fine the videos I was doing from 720 x 480 AVI files just fine, sometime it would get a little lag or stutter during preview for a 30 minute or more project. It would take about 4 hours to render my 30 minute show. Then I got a Sony HD Handycam HDR-SR11. I found I could drop the M2t files into the timeline, but the stutter and lag got worse. When I went to render the files, the process would lock the computer up and rendering would stop at 24%
I converted the files from the M2t to wmv, then I start getting pixilation or distortion, when I go to render, it would lock the computer up at 90%
Computer B would edit the files with no lag or stutter, but would take for ever to render. Then recently, during editing , Sony Vegas would stop responding. I am to the point of wondering, would a new computer fix these issues, because of adding the HDR-SR11, are the files too big? Are there adjustments I can make to the files, or to the computer(s) which will make Sony Vegas work like I want it to.
Some of the files that are on the time line are in different places jump drive, external hard drive , and C drive. Would this be a problem? Please help, and thank you in advance.
