Hey Guys! I am trying to render out an animation of a tree growing. It is utilizing an “Xfrog” tree, the Hair module for moss, and a variety of deformers animated to simulate the tree growing. I am using an Intel 3.0 GHz 8-Core MacPro.

When I do a render preview within C4D, in the view panel (Apple+R) it renders beautifully. Fast, and exactly what I want. I am watching activity monitor, and all 8-Cores max out and it renders this thing in like 10 seconds (as opposed to about 3 minutes on my Dual 2.5 G5 at home.)

Now for some reason when I try and do the actual render, the picture viewer window opens and just stops at “preparing.” it never moves beyond that. Yet it renders fine out of Nucleo Pro2 if I have AE CS3 open. This isn’t ideal for me, as I only 6GB of RAM and apparently need 16GB for NP2 to be utilized to it’s full potential. Does anyone have any insight as to why I can’t render directly out of C4D?

    Thanks-
    -Brian

The only thing I can think of is that you might have some objects in HyperNURBS with higher render settings than editor settings, or possibly you’re rendering to a much higher resolution?
