    Hi

I would like to know why I have to render so many times when placing clips on the timeline in my sequence? Is this because I have not converted my footage in the correct format? If so, then what is the best procedure in preventing the render issue?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Regards
    Leigh

    Hi

Thanks for the prompt response. The format was 1080/25p for a DV Pal system.

It depends on what format you want to output the project as. If you want to leave the final product as 1080/25p than make sure your sequence settings are 1080/25p. They just need to be the same to avoid excessive renders.

If you need to have different settings for your sequence, convert your footage to the sequence settings in Compressor. Hope that helps.

Well, I need more info.. what was the codec used when shot? HDV? HDCAM? avchd? or from a DSLR or?

Chances are you need to transcode your footage to ProRes using the same frame rate and size you shot. Then put a clip in a sequence. It should ask you to conform, and you should say yes. You shouldn’t have to render anything just by placing it in a sequence after that unless it’s NOT proves… like a graphic or something.
