  • Rendering in XD-CAM

I’m doing some work with XD-CAM 1080p footage – my first time working with it – and whenever I go to render instead of it saying that it’s rendering, it says ‘Conforming MPEG-2 Video’ when I go to do a full render.
Could someone just tell me why it says that instead of the normal render message I get with say dvcpro50 footage or anything else?

Not sure, but you’re working with a long GOP codec, so you cannot just render to a codec like that without serious recompression.
I would suggest rendering to ProRes.
