Rendering in Vegas Movie Studio 9: “an exception has occurred”
Can anyone explain what this error means and how to fix it?
I have edited a 30 minute video, from m2ts files (raw camera files). I used about 4 different files, and I used 4 tracks–text, video overlay, video, and music.
It seems that I have this problem whenever I make excessive cuts and transitions.
So, the message I get immediately upon starting my render is:
“an error occurred during the current operation. an exception has occurred”. I copied the details under this message, and here they are:Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0

“Runtime Error! abnormal program termination”I re-booted my computer and tried again, and got the same “exception has occurred” error message.

I don’t remember how it was in Studio 9…
If, in Options>Preferences>Video, you have an option to set the RAM for preview, you might try to lower this and see if things are going better.
Not sure at all though. Having moved from Studio 9 > Studio 10 > Pro 10 > Pro 11, I might mix the options available in the various products versions.
However, even though this is certainly not the answer you would expect, I got rid off most of this memory error stuff when I switched to Vegas Pro.

Thank you for the tip. I tried lowering my dynamic RAM from 128 to 64, and got the same error message.Vegas Pro is much more expensive and elaborate than what I need…doesn’t it cost $500? But…if it’s the only way to salvage these videos, I might have to do it. Thank you.

I have a brand new powerful laptop.
Windows 7
8-core processor
512 GB harddrive (which is only 25% full, because I move everything to an external drive after processing)
RAM: Not sure, but I got the maximum possible on my new Dell.Thank you for the Sony link! I will follow up with them. This sucks!
