I am using AVID MC 8.8.5. for the first time. All my work in the past has been on AVID MC 4.5, which was great.

Here is my question: I want to render a bunch of effects and titles. How to do this? There is a Render command under the Timeline menu. However, it does nothing. When I mark a head mark and a tail mark, the menu says to “Render at Position.” When I simply place the cursor on an effect, the menu says to Render In/Out. Neither command seems to work. How to render????

    Thanks, Ross

Make sure the tracks those effects are on are selected

Sorry for the delay. I have been on the road.

Thanks for the suggestion, but YES the tracks those effects are on are both selected! I get no response when I select “Render In to Out.” What else to try?

    Thanks, Ross Spears

Not sure…because I do it and it works. Why yours won’t…I just don’t know.

Thanks for the response. II am using AVID MC 8.8.5. Is that what you worked with?

Also, I can render effects, such as dissolves and fades, IF I render them at the time of creation. But not later on. Somehow the footage is not being noticed. Who should I ask?

    Thanks again!

Well, I’m on 2018.3 at work, and 2018-11 at home. But I don’t recall having this issue on any version. Can you RENDER AT POSITION? Make sure you are also choosing RENDER IN TO OUT and not EXPERT RENDER…Expert Render will skip realtime effects.
