  • Rendering hd to wmv. How to keep the file small?

Hello, I recently rendered a hd video that is about 3 minutes long to wmv and it ended up being 556 mb. I’ve always used this format for rendering for web and it’s always compressed it to a small size. I’m not sure what I’ve did that has changed the size. It’s like it’s uncompressed, but I can’t seem to find the right setting to get it to compress to about 55 mb or so. I’ve always used the default setting. I never had this problem. I tried a few different settings and can’t seem to get it right. I am rendering Custom (1440×1080, 24.000 fps) I’ve never rendered 24 fps, could this be an issue?

Any help would be great. Thank you. -Kris

Why 1080P? Unless your viewing on a 42″ or larger screen HD screen, you won’t see it.

Thanks for the reply, I did figure out what was going on. I had to decrease the quality of the render to medium. The reason I want HD for the web, is for those who want to view it on YouTube and can handle that format.
