Have a problem in that I’ve created a comp which will eventualloy be produced into an MPEG-2 video and also an animated gif sequence.

All is fine expect for the rendering aspect of the animated gif.

When I render the comp, the animated gif looks bad – especially the glow filter which is a part of the comp.

My question is: what are the best rendering variables to apply when working for the web?

Also, the glow; should this be based on an alpha channel or a colour channel?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Do not render GIFs from within AE. Render a MOV and import that into ImageReady. You have much more control there and everything will certainly look a lot better even at the default settings.

    Thanks Mylenium,

Works brilliantly. Hadn’t realised that you could import Quicktime files into Image Ready.

    Amazing what you learn!

    Much appreciated.
