  • rendering for playback – stopped!

Posted by Consuelo Gonzalez on January 4, 2009 at 5:55 am

I have a one minute music video which is mostly cuts and text. Editing FCP 6.0.5 OSX
All of a sudden it won’t render for playback. The stuff I’ve already rendered (text over picture)
is playing back. But I can’t render anything new. Ideas? It’s HD.

    THANKS,

    Consuelo

    Hi Consuelo,
Make a OPTION-x to clean any possible IN/OUT point, then “OPTION-R’ to force render YOUR TIME LINE.
    Cheers,

    Rafael,

That’s awesome. It worked. However, as soon as I start editing again, I can no longer
render only the new sections or things I’ve changed. I select a few shots, go to
Sequence/Render Selection/Video. And nothing happens. It used to render those few shots.

    Thanks for your time.

    Try Select All, and opt-R.

    R,

That does the same thing as option x, option R, which you probably know. It works. However,
it takes longer than simply rendering one or two shots. It used to render just a selected shot or two, and then all of a sudden stopped. Is there a cache or something that’s overloaded?

In any case, at least I can proceed this way and see what I’m doing!!!!

    THANK YOU.

I know what you mean Consuelo.
Some times for me too is a mess to render just the clips that I want.
