I captured video from my dvx100 in 24p as I have done many times before. Sometimes, when I drop a segment into a 23.98 time line it requires rendering even though there are no effects, and it requires rendering even though I set the RT to low quality. I am running, no other programs, the latest Tiger, dual 2.0 G5 and Final Cut 4.5. What can cause some clips, before any editing, to require rendering an others not? I’ve even tried another computer to see if it was the something other than the clip. Please advise.

Only thing I can think of is that the properites of the clip don’t match the properties of the sequence… did you not remove the pulldown? That would explain it for example… Look at the properties of the clip by selecting it in the Browser and typeing cmd+9…

What should I be looking for? I see the vid rate is 29.97 in the clip and the sequence is 23.98.

Okay, Jerry if finally sunk in. I capture the footage set to “DV NTSC 48 kHz” rather than “DV NTSC 48 kHz Advance (2:3:3:2)” Pulldown. Do I need to recapture?
