hey,
i had the same error recently. i do not use any blackmagic codec, at least not that i’m aware off, since this is pure after effects. no video involved. there are only huge dimensions, both in image / solid resolution, as in x,y,z dimensions in which the elements are spread out.
the weird thing was the error message only popping up on the first frame, on the second frame it was fine. it popped up in full, half, .. resolution, with or without motion blur, effects and adjustments enabled or disabled.. comp was full hd, but even changing to hd720 had no effect whatsoever.
i was gladly able to get rid of the error by simply shortening the lengths of some layers which i reluctantly dragged in the timeline but where at that point not yet in camera view.. there are a total of about 150 layers, with 10 empty layers like nulls and adjustment layers and 30 – 50 visible at every time..
so i guess keeping the timeline clean and tidy DOES improve the internal AE handling after all..!
btw, i use ae cs4..
hope this helps you or anybody else since there is not much information concerning that specific error message..
greetz 🙂
