I have been reworking my time line by dropping in hi-res still images to replace the watermarked low-res comps. Now, I can’t go into the render mode. None of the three choices under Sequence activates the render.

I’ve deleted the high-res images and it still won’t go into render. I created a test sequence using two of the high res images and an effect requiring a render and that WILL go into render.

I noticed a bit of flakey-ness yesterday in that I could go into render and the dialogue box would show the render progress. However, upon completion, the red marks in the timeline would not disappear and I would get the unrendered graphic. Closing and opening FCP seemed to cure that problem, the timeline came back up correctly rendered.

    Thoughts and suggestions?

Have you tried trashing your preference files? There are plenty of posts with information on how to do this. You might want to check out the Preference Manager software at https://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm

Just a suggestion. Im not sure it will work but anytime there is something squirrely going on with FCP, that seems to be the first suggestion out the gate.
