  • Rendering DNxHD codec to H.264 in FCP – Not looking good so far…

    Hi there,

I am in the final stages of delivery on a project and am having trouble exporting.

My grader delivered our film as a Quicktime DNxHD codec, which I am importing to FCP to sync with sound before exporting as Quicktime H.264 (for Vimeo, etc). The problem is, I am losing all the saturation and balance of the grade in the export.

I have played with the colour sync settings (filtered to rec. 709, on the grader’s advice) but it is still coming out desaturated and flat.

Can anyone offer advice on how to maintain the colour space when converting in such a way?

    Much appreciated,

    Nick
