Rendering and widescreen
A very newbie question. Got a new Canon HV30 camera, using Vegas Pro 9 and just getting into HD but having problems getting render setting right. Have tried several settings but always get a letter box effect on my Bravia 42in. LCD TV.
Presently using project template HDV 720-25p (1280×720, 25.000 fps)and render properties Windows Media Video V11 and template 5Mbps HD 720-25p video. Using DVDA setting PAL widescreen (720 x 576).
Is there a setting I should be using/changing so I don’t get the letter box effct on my TV (not interested in uploading to YouTube) without distortion (my wife complains I’m putting weigh on her!). Or is it the case that the letter box effect is a feature of HD widescreen? Surely not.
Any assistance appreciated.

You should not be rendering to WMV. DVD’s must contain MPEG2 video. You should render directly to MainConcept MPEG2 using the DVD Architect PAL Widescreen template. Then render your audio as Dolby Digital AC3 and give it the same name as the video. This way DVD Architect will know that the .ac3 file and .mpg file go together.
