Rendering and multicam edits
Hi,
I recorded a song performed by a band about 6 times using the same camera and tried to set up the tracks as a multicam edit.
When I move it into the timeline from the viewer, it says it needs to be rendered. I render it, but as soon as I do something different, i need to render it again.
Thoughts?

Sounds like your sequence settings don’t match the clip’s parameters. What are your seq settings & what are the clip parameters: codec, frame rate, frame size, etc.?

What kind of render bar are you getting? RED? GREEN?
A multiclip means that you are trying to play back multiple STREAMS of video. Each angle is a stream. You are trying to play back SIX streams of video. That takes pretty fast hard drives. Firewire 800 won’t cut it. YOu need an eSATA raid, or internal SATA Raid of 3-4 drives. You need speed. When you don’t have that, FCP makes you render so that you are now playing back ONE stream, the render file.
Get faster drives if you want 6 streams of video.
