rendering
my sequence presets match my clip properties – DVCPRO 720p24 (for both the sequence and the clips). when i drop the clips into the timeline, it asks me to render them. the clips have no effects, nothing. any idea why this may be happening and how to get aorund it? thanks.

Choose the DVCPRO HD 720p24 Easy setup, and then make a new sequence.
Are you sure the frame rates match? How about dimensions? 960×720?
