In other words your timeline setup has to match what you are digitizing.

Does that mean that I ll have to re-digitize the footage making sure the setup is on dv-pal for the timeline as well as the project. I normaly easy setup, so I guess the timeline set up did not follow that one time?

do i make sense… what can i do is there any way of not having to re-digitize the footage?

You won’t have to re-capture your video as long as your sequence settings match the type of DV you have e.g. if you have DV PAL video clips then make sure your sequence setting is also DV PAL.
