REndering
I am trying to render a clip in FCP. It fizzles out before it finishes. All the other clips in the sequence rendered fine and the render folder seems to have lots of room in it. Any ideas would keep what is left of the hair in my head where it is.

I’ve had situations where FCP would refuse to render a clip. I use 10-bit uncompressed, and I think that is where the problem lies because sometimes opening the sequence settings>video processing and switching to 8-bit will solve it. It happened to me in particular when I try to use Motion Blur, especially in conjunction with a drop shadow. Some Sapphire plugs also don’t want to render in 10-bit.
Man, I hope they fix the 10-bit issues with the next release.

There can be a few different causes. Tell us why the clip needs to be rendered, that might help to know what filters or effects you’re applying.
But partial renders usually indicate a timeline issue or a bad source file. And you really will need to tell us what “fizzles out” means. Is there a render file associated with the clip?
