Rendering 2 hour video to DVD….understanding bitrates

Chris, assuming this is a 2 hr. DVD, John was right about an average bitrate of 4,500,000.
My bitrate calculator gives the following settings for 2 hr. DVD.
I’ve used these exact same settings for 2 different productions in the past month so I know that it works.
CBR: 4,576,000
VBR: 8,008,000 / 4,576,000 / 2,744,000
Your original post said this video was a “bit” over 2 hr. but you didn’t say how much a “bit” was.
Even at 2 hr. 15 min., I get the following settings.
CBR: 7,080,000 / 4,048,000 / 2,424,000
VBR: 4,048,000
BTW, my calculator says that your bitrate of 3,728,000 = 2 1/2 hr. on a DVD.
