I just upgraded to AE 6.5 after having used at 5.5 at a beginner to intermediate level for some time.

I used the shadow/highlight effect on a clip and exported it with the intention of importing it for use in a production in PPro 1.5. The resulting AVI looked really bad–lots of “jaggies” around the image, kind of grainy. I exported it using the same settings I’ve used in the past and am not sure why it looked so bad. Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Use Curves instead. Needs more finesse but works just as well.
