A client is requesting rendered raw footage. If I’m not mistaken “raw” applies to photography. Don’t they mean “uncompressed”? If that is the case, what is the best workflow for exporting rendered “raw” footage. I have two separate timelines to send along with rendered “raw” footage from PrPro 6.

    Thanks

“Raw” can also mean the original, unedited footage that was shot – the original clips from the camera.

Yes, the client simply wants the original footage you shot, unedited. That is what “raw” means in the context of “raw footage” versus the “RAW” format for stills which is something entirely different.

They also probably want you to render the “raw(unedited)”footage into a format they can see/use.

Jeff – Anything I need to know before importing HD HQ files shot on a Sony F3 into Avid? Someone told me that I could lose picture quality if converted prior to importing…
