  • Rendered movie playback issue…

I’ve just rendered a file about 50 seconds in DV format. Just regular position change, opacity change, and one layer of filter. After output as a mov file, the quicktime seems to have problem playing back the file. The movie plays like stop and go, and will sometimes stop without ever moving on. What could be the problem? Please help!

Have you tried playing it in something other than Quicktime? If no, do so. If the file plays fine, it means you have a problem with your installation of Quicktime.

If yes, then give us the specs at which you are rendering in Quicktime

I would say that your computer is probably not fast enough to playback the amount of data that your movie needs to playback smoothly.

I would suspect that you have rendered in animation codec, no codec or maybe a blackmagic 10 bit codec . All of these codecs or non-codecs require quite a lot of processor to display the movies without a hitch. It could also have something to do with a running process interfering, such as an anti-virus.

    Hi,

Mark, your guess is right. i did encoded with animation codec. should of checked it first. I just tried encoding with DV NTSC, everything is fine.
just out of curiosity, how fast does the computer need to be to play back those format without dropping frames?
also, is it okay to use the computer while rendering in AF?

Thanks guys for you fast response!
