Anybody know why my rendered material looks like a different color space, than in the preview window?
The black level is definitely a lot off, so I’m thinking it’s a color space problem. Or maybe a data/safe black level setting, I’m missing.

My goal is for the rendered material to look like in the preview window in AE.
I have already tried a lot of different color space settings, but with the same grey result.

If anyone has any idea to what the problem may be, please let me know.
    Thank you!

what format are you rendering out to and how are you viewing the final result?

Im rendering out to .mov h264, and viewing in either VLC, Quicktime or K-multimediaplayer yields the same wrong black-level result. The only player a bit more towards the preview screen is Windows media player.

It looks like you are using the QT container to render H264 – that would explain the washed out black issue. Use AME with the separate H264 setting for .mp4 export – QT has some issues. Here are a couple of useful links:

I could really use a general better idea of how color spaces, screen input/output works. Maybe if someone know of a guide/tutorial I could read, I might solve the problem myself.
