On my new laptop I loaded my dv tapes to my external drive ok. Problem is when I rendered the clip after editing it to burn, I found my rendered mpeg2 and ac3 went onto my c: drive. I know next time what to do to keep this from happening and them staying on my E: external drive. My external burner for my laptop I ordered hasn’t arrived yet. Is there away of getting the rendered files off my c: drive onto my external hard drive of my laptop so i can connect it to my desk top computer to burn some dvd’s. I know i could drag them from c:drive to my external drive copying them but will this loose any quality because i know your not suppose to make a copy of a mpeg2 file when burning. Since the clip is rendered i wouldn’t have to worry about transfering the music selections from my laptop to my desk top that are rendered into the clip? Thanks for your help

Go right ahead. It’s no different than copying files to/from a CD, jump drive, etc. All you’re doing is copying data so there’s no loss whatsoever. Just make sure to do a Copy and not a Move just in case something gets messed up. Always verify that the copy works before deleting the original.
