    Hi,
I use Sony Vegas 9 Pro and Windows Vista.

I have a movie about 35 minutes long. The movie is a combination of still photos and .MOV files from my Nikon S8100.

The problem is: whenever I render the video – a file is created, but I can not open it without Windows Vista crashing.

A few more things about the file:

    • I can see it in Windows Explorer
    • I suspect it is too small in size – as I rendered an mp4 file at 1280×720
    • the file size was 238 MB
    • Vegas provided no error

A few other items – they may or may not be of interest

    • The video from the camera is H.264, 1920x1080x24
    • YET the Pixel Aspect Ratio from video from the camera is 1.000
    • I resized the pictures to 1920×1080
    • I can play or preview the video in Vegas WITHOUT any problems
    • I render as MainConcept
    • ** I CAN or am ABLE to render about 1/4 of the video – I did this as a test to see if I could render anything

    Any thoughts/ideas?

    Thanks
    Alex

“Vista crashes”… Why am I not surprised?

What program are you trying to open the file with? I have always used VLC Media player – it plays anything. Well, almost.

I agree….. I am SO UNHAPPY with Vista, I can’t explain the HOURS of frustration it has cause me in simple things…….like viewing and searching for files.
